The Academic Center for Excellence is Certified by the College Reading and Learning Association's International Tutor Training Program Certification (CRLA's ITTPC) in all three possible levels: Regular (I), Advanced (II), and Master (III). All Academic Mentors (tutors) are required to complete Level I training within their first semester of employment, and will become certified tutors upon completion of the training and fulfilling the required number of tutoring hours (25 hours for each Level). Level II and III trainings are optional but tutors are highly encouraged to complete them as well.
CRLA's ITTPC has been endorsed by the National Association for Developmental Education, Commission XVI of the American College Personnel Association, the American Council of Developmental Education Associations, Association for the Tutoring Professional and the National Tutoring Association.
