Summer Assistant (SA)
As an EOP Student Summer Assistant (SA), you are an extension of the Educational Opportunity Program and serve as a role model for EOP incoming first-year students. The position requires you to provide leadership, guidance, and information about both the EOP program and Buffalo State University to incoming freshmen.
Student Resident Director (SRD)
The Student Resident Director (SRD) will serve as a co-manager of the residence hall along with helping in the development and facilitation of activities for the summer academy. This position reports directly to the academy coordinator and works collaboratively with the summer conference staff of the Residence Life office. The position requires the SRD to understand and implement all EOP summer academy policies and procedures within the residence hall. In addition, the SRD will have to respond, address, and report all conduct violations that occur. The SRD is responsible for assisting in the transition of approximately 150 incoming EOP freshmen.
The SRD will help serve as direct helpers to the Summer Assistants (SA). The SA will be assigned a group of students via the EOP Counselors caseload, and the SRD will be responsible for supervising a smooth experience for each student and SA within the residence hall. The SRD is required to reside in the designated residence hall with the SA staff and EOP students for the duration of the appointment and maintain 24-hour residency.
