Below are the recommended items we suggest for the EOP Freshman Summer Academy.  Students will reside on campus for 4 weeks and will need to clear out the dorms upon departure.

 In addition, please review the Residence Life website for prohibited items. 

ITEMS TO BRING / NOT TO BRING  

Items To Bring

REQUIRED: Issued picture ID (e.g. driver's license, non-driver's license, or passport/copy, High School ID), Medical Insurance Card (or copy of Insurance Card)  

LUGGAGE: We strongly recommend students bring no more than ONE suitcase and ONE personal bag (duffle bag, weekend bag).  There are FREE laundry machines offered in the residence halls for washing. Students will need to bring/buy detergent.

Below are the things you will need for your residential stay

  • Pillow, pillowcases, blanket, bedspread, mattress pad, sheets to fit a twin extra-long mattress
  • Washcloth and towel 
  • Laundry detergent and laundry bag/basket  
  • Shower caddy (to carry personal items to shower)  
  • Shower slippers/flip flops   
  • Personal hygiene/toiletry items (bath soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo/conditioner, deodorant, lotion, etc.)   
  • Notebook, Pen, Bookbag
  • Toiletries

Optional Items  

  • Spending money for personal items 
  • Comfortable clothing for weekend activities  
  • Clothing hangers 
  • Fan 
  • Umbrella
  • Refillable water bottle 
  • Power strip with surge protector
  • Laptop/Tablet and Charger

 

Items Not to Bring

  • Car   
  • Valuables (they cannot be secured, and we are not responsible if items are lost)  
  • Candles / Incense  
  • Hover boards   
  • Non-auto shut off electronics/appliances  
  • Extension cords   
  • Television   
  • Refrigerator (unless you will need this for medication, if so, review specification on the Residence Life website for a mini fridge)
  • Items that will be difficult for you to take/carry back with you once the program has ended.

Rooms are doubles and include twin beds, desks, desk chairs, closets, dressers, window shades, and floor lamps. 

There is a TV in the main lounge area of the residence hall. 

STUDENTS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO STORE ITEMS ON CAMPUS FOR THE FALL. ROOMS MUST BE CLEARED BY THE END OF THE SUMMER ACADEMY.
