Hi, my name is Anany Marcano, and I’m a sophomore and I am studying to have my own practice in clinical psychology to be able to help those who may battle with themselves. I’m a player on the women’s lacrosse team and am a part of the EOP community. I mentor EOP freshman and help them navigate the challenges that may come their way their first year. In my role I also serve as a peer and resource to freshmen as they navigate obstacles through their freshman year. I’m honored to have received this recognition by my EOP counselor; it truly means a lot. I strive daily to reach levels and surpass the limits set upon me and I look for ways to constantly grow whether that be academically, physically, emotionally, or mentally. I create success when I learn and improve as well as take the opportunity to help those around me. As a student athlete I’m given the chance to be a role model in my community and to those I meet daily. I always demonstrate kindness and show up as a responsible and genuine person wherever I go, no matter who’s present. I look at things differently and will always share my opinion for those who may or may not perceive things the way I do to invite open-mindedness and change.
