Growing up in a single mother home and being the only child for 13 years was probably the best thing that could’ve happened to me in life. I learned a lot from being alone for a good amount of time. I had the ability to become a free thinker and expand my mind with different things I loved to do; Like playing with cars, wrestle, play with my Wii, DS- XL, and sports. Playing with toys expanded my imagination. Playing games allowed me to become more creative and very active at times. With sports, it taught me many valuable lessons I use in my everyday day life.
When I get older, I will be successful in whatever I do in the future. I will love to go back to the places I grew up in my life and give back to those neighborhoods. The neighborhoods I lived in were not good neighborhoods and were filled with a lot of violence, crime, and filthiness. I didn’t grow up wanting to play outside because I didn’t want to risk anything, I spent my days indoors doing my work or at practice for football. I was independent and I liked it like that. This allowed me to set goals for myself, and I felt like I was ahead of everyone else my age. Without school in general I wouldn’t have made it this far. I needed school to play the sport I love at every level. School does help you with social skills. It helps you build relationships as well. Now, I’m ready for my next chapter here at Buffalo State University.
